Dunquin Oil Exploration Project

November 2012 - July 2013

O’Keeffe’s Oil was awarded the contract to supply oil to the “Eirik Raude” mobile oil drilling unit which carried out test drilling during 2013 in the Porcupine Basin off the South West coast of Ireland. The contract was awarded following a comprehensive tender process.​

Safety was of paramount importance to the operation and O’Keeffe’s Oil, leveraged in-house safety and operations resources, along with expertise from our supply partners Phillips 66 Ltd and Esso Ireland Ltd, to meet and exceed the exacting criteria required for the project.​

The drilling programme was a joint venture between Provident Resources and ExxonMobil and ran until July 2013. Under the contract, O’Keeffe’s Oil was also required to provide Marine Gas Oil for a number of support vessels involved in the project.
